Sanad Research Access
Good research should not depend on access to funding.
Selected, no-cost support for original research using organized hospital data from resource-limited settings, considered case by case.
A collaboration built around the work.
Sanad may provide selected analysis and publication-support services without professional fees, case by case. Each accepted collaboration has a written scope. Support depends on scientific suitability, genuine resource constraints, and available capacity.
What selected support can include.
Analysis and interpretation
Data-readiness review, selected statistical analyses, and discussion of the findings.
Manuscript support
Selected methods and results development, interpretation, editing, or submission preparation.
Publication-fee support
Possible support for article processing charges after acceptance in an agreed Q1 journal, subject to separate written approval and available funding.
Who should request consideration?
Priority goes to researchers based in low- and lower-middle-income countries who lack sufficient research funding. Country alone does not determine the decision.
Scientific relevance and methodological suitability remain part of the review.
Original hospital research. Ready for consideration.

- An engaged local team. Resource constraints explained
APC support is considered separately under the Research Access terms.
Ready for review means more than a tidy spreadsheet.
Be ready to provide a data dictionary, explain missing values and exclusions, and document the study design. Share only a non-confidential summary at first. If a project is shortlisted, the parties agree the appropriate data access and transfer arrangements before any dataset is shared.
Download the readiness checklist (English)APC support is a separate decision.
For selected projects, Sanad may cover some or all article processing charges after the final manuscript is accepted by an agreed Q1 journal. The journal, ranking source, coverage amount, and conditions must be confirmed in writing. Funding depends on available resources; acceptance alone does not create a funding commitment.
Request consideration before submission where possible. An already-accepted manuscript may be reviewed, but do not incur charges in expectation of support until it is approved. Publisher waivers and discounts should be checked first.
Local knowledge stays central.
The research team retains its data rights as set out in the agreement. Contributors receive appropriate credit. Providing free services or paying an APC does not confer authorship. Findings do not need to be positive or statistically significant to be considered.
Authorship policyHow a request is considered.
Send a short summary
Describe the team, question, data readiness, and support needed. No dataset upload at this stage.
Review suitability
A person reviews the scientific basis, resource constraints, ethics, data readiness, and capacity.
Agree the collaboration
Confirm scope, responsibilities, data arrangements, and any separate APC commitment in writing.
Before you request support.
Is every eligible request accepted?
Must the findings be positive?
Does free support mean Sanad becomes an author?
How is Q1 checked?
Are APCs covered for ordinary paid clients?
Start with a short, non-confidential summary.
A person must review the request before any support is agreed. Please do not include patient information, a dataset, financial records, or unpublished protocol details.
